Publicom, Lansing Chamber, Leap announce marketing grant
OKEMOS, Mich. – Publicom Inc. is planning to give back in a big way as it enters its 41st year.
The full-service marketing communications firm has created the Publicom 40+1 Grant. It offers 40 free hours of marketing communication services plus one year of mentoring to help a business or organization – for profit or not-for-profit – thrive beyond the pandemic.
“We had planned to announce the grant earlier this year to mark our 41st year in business, but when the coronavirus hit, businesses were understandably scrambling,” said Lisa O’Connor, Publicom president and owner. “Now that many businesses will be re-opening, we believe our expertise can be of real assistance to help get an organization back on track.”
Publicom is partnering with the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce and Lansing Economic Area Partnership (LEAP) to help promote the Publicom 40+1 Grant, valued at $9,000.
The grant application has just four questions, and the deadline is June 15, 2020. For more information and to apply for the grant, visit www.Publicom.com/41.
“Publicom is fortunate to have enjoyed many decades of prosperity,” O’Connor continued. “We believe that giving back during this time of crisis is a meaningful way to help the community that has supported us for 41 years.”
The free 40 hours include any of Publicom’s in-house services:
- marketing research
- strategy and planning
- creative services (e.g., copywriting, design, video editing)
- public relations
- internal engagement
- communications
- social media/digital marketing
- media planning and buying
The one year of free ongoing support entails two hours per month of mentoring/consulting.
Bob Trezise, president and CEO of LEAP, said, “When LEAP was established 12 years ago, Publicom designed our logo, which remains a piece of LEAP’s brand as we know it today. We are excited to share this grant opportunity with businesses and organizations that need professional marketing communications counsel during these challenging times.”
Publicom has produced award-winning results for local, regional, national and international clients with budgets of all sizes. The company has also been named a Cool Place to Work by Crain’s Detroit Business.
“It’s practically unheard of in our industry, but we’ve worked with several clients for more than 20 years,” O’Connor said. “We place a high priority on integrity and our ability to listen. Through listening, we are better able to identify the problem to be solved.”
Tim Daman, LRCC president and CEO, said, “With the changing landscape, this is a great opportunity for any business looking to boost its marketing communications effort. Publicom has been a long-time member of the chamber, and we’re happy to partner with them to provide a business with marketing expertise to move its brand forward.”
Eligible organizations are not required to be a Lansing chamber member or associated with LEAP.
